Miranda Lambert Announces New Country-Disco Single “Crisco”

Miranda Lambert is cooking up a new era! Releasing on May 15, her new single “Crisco” blends classic country and ’70s disco.

“It has so many elements of the country music that I love that I’ve never put on tape,” Miranda shares of the song co-written with Aaron Raitiere, Jesse Frasure and Chill Fellacheck. “There’s a looseness to it, a joy. It feels like dancing in your kitchen with the person you love, spinning old records, not overthinking a thing.”

The song nods to timeless classics like Glen Campbell’s “Southern Nights” and Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton’s “Islands in the Stream,” bridging generations of country music while expanding its boundaries to carve out something entirely fresh.

In teasers posted on social media, she sings: “Baby, we’ve been cooking with Crisco / Ain’t we mixin’ country and disco / Stir it around / Give it a spin / It’s a rhinestone world we’re livin’ in / We’re talkin’ Southern Nights / We could be like Islands In The Stream, that’s right / Getting in the rhythm of the radio / And away we go / Cooking with that Crisco.”

Miranda Lambert’s country-meets-disco infused aesthetic began with “A Song To Sing,” her duet with Chris Stapleton in 2025, which features a heart-shaped disco ball on the cover art and a ’70s disco roller rink setting in the music video.

“Crisco” marks Lambert’s first release since announcing her new label partnership with MCA. Will “Crisco” and “A Song To Sing” be part of a full country-disco album? Only time will tell, but we have high hopes Miranda will deliver.
